The corner of NW Military and De Zavala doesn't announce itself. If you live in Bentley Manor or off Ripple Creek, you probably drive past 900 Saddletree Court on the way to the grocery store without giving it a second look. It reads as city hall, a fire station, a parking lot, and some oak trees.
On Sunday mornings between ten and two, that same three-acre patch turns into something different. A weekly outdoor market pulls into the parking lot. Neighbors loop the walking trail behind City Hall. On roughly a dozen Saturdays a year, the lawn hosts a pony ride, a free-tree giveaway, or a 20-foot walk-through butterfly tent. The city didn't build a downtown. It just let the same address do more than one job.
